Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 1982. Maggie Grace is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington from Ohio dropped out of high school and moved into Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. It was a struggle to survive and was offered her first role in acting as Rachel's Room's main character. The television film Murder in Greenwich, in which she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for the Young Artist Award. In 2004, Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she acted as a principal actor for the first two seasons winning a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace left the show in order to focus on her professional film work. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) on Suburban Girl and The Jane Austen Book Club. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. In 2013, she appears in the episode Californianation of the 6th Season. The character she plays is Faith who's the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager, she began to work on small roles with her father. She was also in Donnie Darko with her sister. The year 2002 saw her was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered her Golden Globe Award nods. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. For her performance as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following years she was a part of comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. She also appeared as an Secret Service Agent in White House Down the action thriller from 2013, she was a musician on the set of Frank (2014), and The lead on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal's first film as a filmmaker and writer came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama that won her an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
